A man has received head and facial injuries in anearly morning attack in the Creggan area of Derry.
The victim, who is in his 40s, was found lying on the ground at Central Drive at about 6.00am.
His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
