A man in his 20s has been taken to hospital after being assaulted by a gang armed with a baseball bat and chain.
Four masked men forced their way into the man’s home in the Lisnarea Avenue area of Derry at around 3am and subjected him to a severe beating.
Three of his assailants were described as being in their late 30s and another in his early 20s.
The man’s injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
