A man has been arrested by detectives investigating the triple murder of two sisters and their mother's partner shot dead in an apartment in north London, police said today.
Lorna Morrison, 34, her sister Connie, 27, and their mother's partner Noel Patterson, 62, were found by a family member on a bedroom floor at the house in the Wembley area on Friday.
Patterson and Connie Morrison had been tied up and all three had been shot in the head. Lorna Morrison's nine-month-old baby Christanio was in the apartment at the time but was unharmed.
Police said a man in his 20s had been arrested on Tuesday evening at an address in South Tottenham and was now being questioned.
Detectives have been looking for three youths seen entering the apartment block last Thursday night when the murders took place.
The sisters' mother, Evelyn Daley, a care worker, was out working at the time.
"The whole community has been shocked by this violence," Detective Superintendent Gary Richardson said. "We must trace the people responsible as soon as possible."
