Man held over NI hit-and-run death

A man was being questioned today about a suspected hit-and-run death on the outskirts of west Belfast.

A man was being questioned today about a suspected hit-and-run death on the outskirts of west Belfast.

The suspect handed himself into police after Gerard Kane (21) was knocked down by a car on the Colin Glen Road near Dunmurry.

Mr Kane was struck as he walked through the area where he lived at around 5am today.

A Police Service of Northern Ireland spokesman confirmed one man was arrested after walking into a station in the city. Investigating officers have also appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
