A man was arrested and questioned today in the investigation into the death of alleged UDA men Tommy English.

The PSNI's historical enquiries team (HET) arrested the 44-year-old man today and later released him, the PSNI said.

Mr English (40) was shot and killed in front of his wife at their home on the Ballyduff Estate, Newtownabbey in October 2000. His killing was part of a shooting war between rival loyalist factions which claimed seven lives.

The HET was established to deal with over 3,000 so-called cold cases of the troubles up to 1998.
