A 31-year-old man is being questioned by gardaí following the discovery of a woman's body in Co Carlow this morning.
Lisa Doyle (24) was found in a house on High Street, Leighlinbridge, Co Carlow, at 6am after the man handed himself in to gardaí.
He is being held at Carlow Garda station under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
It is understood detectives are not looking for anyone else in connection with the death, which is being treated as suspicious.
The house was sealed off for forensic examinations and the State Pathologist was called in.
Ms Doyle was from Eastwood in Bagenalstown, about five kilometres from Leighlinbridge. It is understood she had just moved into the rented house.
