Gardaí have arrested a man in Dublin following the seizure of a large amount of heroin and cocaine in the north inner city overnight.

The drugs, with an estimated street value of €300,000, were found in a flat on the North Circular Road along with a handgun and an quantity of ammunition.

The arrested man is being held at Store Street station under section two of the Criminal Justice Act. He can be held without charge for seven days.
