A man is in custody in Waterford garda station in relation to the death of a 49-year old man in the city last night.
The man's body was discovered at an apartment on Willaims Street at about 5 am.
The body remains at the scene, which is preserved pending the arrival of the state pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy, and the Garda technical bureau.
The man is being detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act and may be detained for up to 12 hours.
