A search of four houses in Drogheda, Co Louth, has uncovered controlled drugs worth almost £400,000. The houses were searched on Tuesday and early yesterday. In a follow-up operation, gardai arrested a man in his 40s under the Drug Trafficking Act. He is being held in Drogheda.
The search led to the seizure of £291,000 worth of amphetamines (speed), £5,000 worth of cannabis resin and £90,000 worth of ecstasy tablets.
Approximately £15,000 worth of stolen property, mainly for use in the construction industry, was also recovered.
