Man held after attempted raid in Dublin bank

A man has been arrested after an attempted robbery at an AIB branch on Dublin's Dame Street.

A man has been arrested after an attempted robbery at an AIB branch on Dublin's Dame Street.

The raid by a single armed man took place at 1pm. He was arrested before he was able to leave the bank, no money was taken and no one was reported to have been injured.

Gardaí were unable to confirm the type of weapon used in the attack.

There is minor traffic disruption in the area, and the bank is closed.
