A Donegal man has been found not guilty by a jury at the Central Criminal Court of raping a then 18-year-old girl while giving her a lift home after a dance. Patrick John McCauley (29), of Manorcunningham, was found guilty on a second charge of sexually assaulting the woman on the same occasion, July 20th 1998.
The man was remanded on bail for sentence in January.
