Gardai in Galway have ruled out foul play following the discovery of the body of a middle-aged man at a house in the Taylor's Hill area of the city. It is understood that he may have been dead for a number of weeks. The body of the man, who has yet to be named, was discovered in his house after his work colleagues became concerned.

The man, who lived alone, is believed to be a member of the medical staff at University College Hospital and had not been seen for a number of weeks. A post-mortem has been carried out.
