Man found dead in Derry prison

A man has been found dead in his cell in Magilligan Prison, Co Derry. It is understood Mr Derek Gardiner (33) was found hanging in the cell yesterday at 8.15 a.m. Police are investigating the incident but said the circumstances surrounding his death did not appear suspicious. He was serving a two-year sentence for petrol bombing.
