Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man whose body was found in a house in Crosshaven in Co Cork this afternoon.
The services of the State Pathologist's office have been requested but gardaí stressed that it was purely for precautionary reasons at this stage as early indications suggest no foul play was involved.
It is understood that there was no sign of forced entry at the house which remains cordoned off by gardaí pending an examination of the body at the scene.
The man - who was in his 30s - lived alone in the house in the seaside village and his body was discovered around 2pm when a friend called to visit him.
