Man for court over Limerick laneway death

A 31-year-old man is due in court today in relation to the discovery of a body in Limerick city yesterday.

A 31-year-old man is due in court today in relation to the discovery of a body in Limerick city yesterday.

Patrick O'Donoghue (41) was found dead in Meat Market Lane off Athlunkard Street in the city. He was discovered lying on his back by a passer-by.

Gardaí said yesterday they were keeping an open mind on the circumstances of the death but the matter is not being treated as a suspicious.

A man was later arrested and was being questioned about the death.

The results of a post mortem carried out by deputy State Pathologist, Dr Margaret Bolster, have not yet been made public.
