Jarratt - A man sentenced to die for killing two men and raping two teenage girls during a 1993 crime spree in southern Virginia was executed by lethal injection on Wednesday.
Prison officials said Ronald Lee Fitzgerald was pronounced dead just after 1 a.m. Irish time yesterday. Fitzgerald, who was diagnosed as borderline mentally retarded, was sentenced to die for killing his girlfriend's uncle and a taxi-driver he flagged down for a ride after the murder.
