A man was killed in a fire at his home in Newbliss, Co Monaghan early yesterday. Mr Bernard Toal (42), who was married with three sons, was alone in the house in Lower Main Street when the fire broke out in the kitchen area at about 5 a.m.
Meanwhile, the US national killed in a road accident at Keilnascarta, Bantry, west Cork on Tuesday has been named as Ms Olga Anna Zimmerman (51), from Clifton Way, New York.
