Man dies in Galway crash

A 31-year-old man has died following a crash in Co Galway overnight.

A 31-year-old man has died following a crash in Co Galway overnight.

The single-vehicle accident occurred before 2.45am between Balrobuck Beg and Balrobuck More, just off the Headford to Galway City Road, 10 kilometres from Galway City.

The man, who was travelling alone in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene and was taken to University Hospital Galway.

Gardaí are trying to establish the time of the collision, and are appealing for witnesses who may have travelled the route overnight to contact them in Mill Street Garda station on 091 538000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
