A man died after he choked on a piece of meat while eating dinner in a pub, an inquest heard yesterday
Patrick O'Brien (70), Carrick-on-Suir, Co Tipperary died despite efforts to resuscitate him by staff and customers in The Field pub in Kilkenny city in March 2009.
Kilkenny Coroner's Court heard Mr O'Brien choked on a piece of meat measuring 50 millimetres.
Pathologist Dr Fergus McSweeney, who carried out an autopsy on Mr O'Brien's body, said he had "choked on a piece of meat that went down the wrong way".
