HARARE - A soldier in the former white army of Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe, Mr Anthony White, who was accused of killing Swedish premier, Olof Palme, a strong opponent of apartheid in South Africa, yesterday denied any involvement in the 1986 assassination.

He said in a telephone interview from the sawmill he runs in the Mozambican port of Beira that he was "absolutely shocked" by the allegation, made by a former South African agent, Mr Dick Coetzee.
