Man critical after stabbing

A man was in a critical condition in hospital early today after being stabbed outside a pub in Dublin's north inner city.

A man was in a critical condition in hospital early today after being stabbed outside a pub in Dublin's north inner city.

The incident happened outside the Millennium Pub in Ballybough at about 1 a.m. A Garda spokesman said a six-inch knife was used in the attack. The victim, who was understood to be in his 20s, was taken to the Mater Hospital.

A man was arrested and was being questioned at Fitzgibbon Street Garda station.
