A SECURICOR employee been charged in connection with the £1 million Securicor robbery in Belfast last weekend. Mr Keith Winward (34), of Finch Way in the Taughmonagh estate, south Belfast, was remanded in custody until May 8th.

At Belfast Magistrates Court on Saturday Mr Winward, Securicor driver, whose family was held hostage during the robbery, was accused of the robbery and the unlawful imprisonment of a fellow Securicor guard a week last Saturday.

Mr Winward denied any involvement in the robbery.

An RUC detective sergeant told the court that the evidence against Mr Winward was "purely circumstantial".
