A man (32) has appeared in court charged in connection with the deaths of two teenagers in a car crash in Co Antrim last week.

Mr Paul Johnston, from Ballymena Road, Carnlough, was charged at Larne Magistrate's Court with causing the deaths by dangerous driving of the two boys.

He was also accused of being unfit to drive through alcohol or drugs at the time of the crash.

Gavin O'Neill (16) from Carnlough and David McAuley (15) from Larne were killed when the car they were travelling in hit a wall in Carnlough in the early hours of Wednesday, August 27th.

Mr Johnston was remanded on bail to appear in court again on October 31st.
