A Limerick man was charged last night at a special court sitting in Galway with assaulting a man who subsequently died from head injuries.
Mr Joseph McCarthy (29), of no fixed abode, was charged with assaulting Colman Barrett, at St Patrick's Church, Forster Street, Galway, in the early hours of yesterday morning. He was remanded.
