A community welfare officer with the North Western Health Board received a two-year suspended prison sentence and a £1,500 fine at Letterkenny Circuit Court for breaching Section 6 of the Child Trafficking and Pornography Act 1998.

Danny Harkin (54), a separated father of four from Ballyraine, Letterkenny, who is on leave from his job, had his house raided by gardai on October 17th, 1998.

During the raid more than 1,000 pornographic videos and folders containing pictures of young children in sexually explicit poses were recovered.
