A 21-year-old Belfast man was recovering in hospital last night from a paramilitary-style punishment beating

A 21-year-old Belfast man was recovering in hospital last night from a paramilitary-style punishment beating. The man was bundled into a car at North Queen Street at around 7.30 p.m. and driven to Upper Meadow Street where he was beaten by a group of masked men shortly after 11 p.m.

The RUC is also investigating a petrol bomb attack on a house in Portrush early today. The two occupants of the house at Glenbush Drive escaped without injury.
