A man in his 20s has been arrested in connection with the death of 82-year-old Michael Creighton, who was found dead on Sunday night.
As part of the on going investigation into the death of Mr Creighton the man was arrested in the Mullingar area at 5.15 pm this evening.
Mr Creighton was found dead at his apartment on Castle Street in Mullingar on Sunday evening.
A post mortem revealed that he suffered extensive wounds to his body.
