British police investigating activities of loyalist paramilitary groups have arrested a man in Liverpool this morning under anti-terrorism legislation.

The man (43) was held at 8am, was taken to a police station in Manchester and is being held under the Terrorism Act.

It is understood the arrest is in connection with the activities of loyalist paramilitary groups linked to Northern Ireland.
