A man has been acquitted by a Dublin Circuit Criminal Court jury of possession of heroin and ecstasy valued at about €3.5 million.

Mr Karl Donnelly (31), Spitalfields, Francis Street, Dublin, was released by Judge Patrick McCartan. Mr Donnelly had pleaded not guilty during his eight-day trial to having 12 kg of heroin and 83,000 ecstasy tablets for sale or supply in September 2001.
