A MAN was summoned to court yesterday on allegations that he buggered and indecently assaulted five residents of a former care home for travellers, Trudder House, in Co Wicklow.

The man, who did not appear in court but was represented by his solicitor, Mr Pat. McCartan, had 10 summonses against him alleging the abuse against five residents in Trudder House, Newtownmountkennedy, between January, 1985, and December, 1987.

When the case was called at Wicklow District Court, Mr Gus Cullen, for the State, sought an adjournment until September 3rd to allow time for the completion of a book of evidence. Judge Donnchadh O Buachalla agreed to the adjournment.
