A man has appeared in court in Omagh, Co Tyrone, charged with cultivating, possessing and intending to supply cannabis after 250 mature plants and 180 seedlings with a street value of around £500,000 were found in a building outside Dungannon.

A solicitor for the accused, Mr Roy Hadden, of Lisnaskea, Co Fermanagh, said he was cultivating the cannabis for his own use and because it was of therapeutic value to others. He was remanded in custody to appear in court in Enniskillen today.
