An 18-year-old man was abducted from his home in Armagh town on Tuesday night and later shot in both feet, the RUC said yesterday. The man was found by local residents at Tullyallen, Dungannon, Co Tyrone yesterday evening. According to an RUC spokesman, the man had been taken from his home by masked men at about 10.20 p.m. and held overnight at an undisclosed location. He was receiving medical treatment for his injuries last night.

A young mother of two has escaped injury in a gun attack on her Co Antrim home. It is claimed a sectarian campaign is being waged to drive her out. The woman and her sons, aged seven and four, were asleep when the shots were fired into their house in Larne at about 1.30 a.m. yesterday.
