In Co Offaly, a 77 year old man facing 13 sex related charges was served with a book of evidence at Tullamore Court yesterday. The man, who cannot be named, faces five charges of rape, six of sexual assault and two of indecent assault.
Supt G. Murray sought to have the accused man returned for trial at the next sitting of the Circuit Court, but defending solicitor Mr Donal Farrelly requested time to read the book of evidence. Judge Aidan O'Donnell remanded him on continuing bail to the next sitting of the court on April 3rd.
