Man (72) dies after Meath road collision

An elderly man was fatally injured this afternoon when the car he was travelling in collided with a lorry.

An elderly man was fatally injured this afternoon when the car he was travelling in collided with a lorry.

The accident occurred at Piercetown in Dunboyne, Co Meath at approximately 1.00pm.

The 72-year-old man was a passenger in the vehicle. The driver of the car was taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown and is being treated for serious injuries.

Gardai at Dunboyne are investigating.
