A local man in his 40s was killed this afternoon in a car crash in Co Monaghan.
He died when the car he was driving was in collision with another car at Aghnamallagh, Smithboro, at around 1.50pm.
The man was taken to Cavan General Hospital where he died at around 5.50pm this evening.
The female passenger in his car and the male driver of the other car were also taken to hospital where their injuries are not thought life threatening.
