A Dublin man who set fire to a building in a random arson attack has been jailed for four years.

James Kelly (30), Willow Wood View, Hartstown, broke a window at the Lower Drumcondra Road building on November 1st, 2007, climbed in and set the place alight without using fire accelerant, causing €490,000 damage.

Judge Tony Hunt accepted that it was a case of recklessness, that there was no attempt to cover up the crime and no grievances towards the sole occupant of the building, who escaped unharmed.
