A man was killed today when his car crashed into a ditch.
The 27-year-old was taken to hospital following the incident, which occurred
shortly after midnight near Ballybrittas in Co Laois.
He was later pronounced dead by doctors at the Midland Regional Hospital.
The scene was closed for forensic examinations and gardaí in Portlaoise have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
