A 25-year-old man has died following a car crash in Newport, Co Mayo early this morning.
The crash happened at about 1.45am when the car he was driving crashed into Knocknaboley Bridge on the N59 at Kilmenna, Newport.
The man was taken to Mayo General Hospital where he died a short time later.
The road is closed at present to facilitate a forensic investigation.Gardaí in Westport are investigating.
