Beijing - Chinese hill farmers who fell victim to a bride-for-sale scam in a remote part of China enjoyed very short honeymoons, writes Miriam Donohoe.
At least 10 bachelors in a remote hamlet outside Changsha placed orders for wives at an average price of £2000. Within a period of a few days in August, all their marriages had ended. One lasted three days. There was no sign of a refund for the lonely hillmen.
