Newcastle United has unveiled £90 million sterling plans to build a new state-of-the-art stadium, redevelop St James' Park and float the football club on the London Stock Exchange.
Chairman Sir John Hall said plans would be submitted in January for a 55,000 capacity stadium on nearby parkland. The stadium, with three-tier stands and a sunken pitch, will cost an estimated £65 million and Sir John revealed that a further £25 million will be spent on turning the existing ground into a multi-purpose indoor arena.
