They're all "jus' relaxin', boss". The acting fraternity has decided to boogie on down to see the Abbey's newest play: Tartuffe, by Moliere, ere in a new version by Declan Hughes. It's a night on the town for many an actor and guest.
Jus' relaxin' is Dubliner Darragh Kelly, who has just finished performing in Three Days of Rain at the Project. Also chillin' out is Jasmine Russell, who'll be in a new play by Maeve Binchy at Andrew's Lane Theatre in the new year. Bongi Mac Dermott, an artist from Sweden, is enjoying the vibe, knowing that her work is currently on show at the Kevin Kavanagh Gallery, Great Strand Street - but only until today, so don't delay. Another artist, Mair ead O hEocha, is with her friends too.
The actor Gertrude Montgomery will be in The Fourth Wise Man, at The Ark, playing "an alternative Virgin Mary - a single mum. It's a little bit wooo!" she says. Her friend, Abbey woman Marie Kelly from Bray, is in a bronze shot-silk trouser suit.
Eunice McMenamin is here, along with many friends, to see friend and Glenroe colleague Cathy Belton on stage, playing Emily. Another Glenroe star, Sile Nic Chonaonaigh, from Spiddal, Co Galway, who is Miley's right-hand woman in the soap, says the two native Irish speakers (i fein agus Mick Lally) chat away as Gaeilge on set, along with Aonghus Weber, who's joined them from Ros na Run.
Dressed in velvet for the occasion is actor Natalie String from London, with her fiance, Brian Doherty, from Waterford. They're getting married in May. As they say in Ring, Co Waterford: Go mbeirimid beo ar an am seo aris. Agus mar chrioch ar an mbliain nil a thuilleadh le ra ach Nollaig Shona diobh go leir agus bliain nua fe mhaise diobh.
