LOYALISTS in south Belfast have applied to the RUC for permission to hold a "Protestant civil rights march" on Sunday which will pass through the nationalist Lower Ormeau, reports Suzanne Breen, in Belfast. However, Ms Pauline Gilmore, of the Ulster Democratic Party, believed the march would be banned.

Mr Gerard Rice, of the Lower Ormeau Concerned Community group, said residents would oppose the parade if it went ahead.
