Loyalist protests cause Belfast traffic disruption

A series of peaceful protests by loyalists have caused traffic disruption for commuters in Belfast this evening.

A series of peaceful protests by loyalists have caused traffic disruption for commuters in Belfast this evening.

The protests are reported to be along the main routes and more limited in scope than last night.

They centre on west Belfast and access to the M1 motorway which heads westward across northern Ireland.

Police said on most roads traffic was moving if only slowly. There were also blocks on roads in parts of North Belfast.
