Addis Ababa - Ethiopia yesterday denied a claim made by Eritrea that 110,000 Ethiopian troops had been killed or wounded in fighting between the neighbouring countries between May 12th and June 18th.

"How many times have we said that these are just numbers; 110,000 soldiers out of action means one third of the army is finished, but who's giving up territory, who lost its so-called credibility?" reacted Ethiopian foreign ministry official, Mr Yemane Kidane.
