Gardai in Limerick fear a feud that led to the shooting dead on Sunday week of Mr Eddie Ryan (41), of Kileely, may be escalating. This follows the firing of shots at the occupant of a van in the Corbally area at the weekend, writes Arthur Quinlan, in Limerick.

The intended victim was making a delivery of goods when another van pulled up alongside and a person opened fire and then drove off.

Gardai later arrested a man who was detained for questioning at Henry Street station. He was released without charge.
