Plain-clothes and uniformed gardai have begun travelling on buses serving O'Malley Park, Limerick's largest corporation housing estate. This follows a weekend protest by Bus Eireann drivers, who refused to operate services into the estate as a result of attacks on drivers and vandalism on buses during daytime. Evening bus services into O'Malley Park have already been suspended following attacks by gangs of young people.
