Limerick 1-16 Waterford 1-14:A superb display from goalkeeper Brian Scanlon helped Limerick pip Waterford to claim the National Football League Division Four title at Croke Park this afternoon.
With the sides level at 1-14 each late in the game, Scanlon saved well from Waterford substitute Patrick Nurney, with Tommy Prendergast hitting the post from the rebound.
The goalkeeper then sealed the victory by knocking over a ’45 before Ger Collins knocked over a point to give him a personal haul of 1-6.
Collins’s goal in the ninth minute was to prove a lucky omen for his side as Waterford goalkeeper misjudged his shot as it dipped under the crossbar for a three-pointer.
Sligo 0-19 Antrim 1-11:Sligo were in excellent scoring touch as they later wrapped up the Division Three title with five points to spare over Antrim.
