Fifteen cows which were sheltering from a thunderstorm in Co Tipperary last week were killed by lightning. Sixteen others survived.

The lighting strike happened on the farm of John and Alice Brislane, Coologue, Toomvara. The cows were on high ground and had sought shelter beneath two sycamore trees in an exposed area.
