The Rachael D, with two crew members on board, began drifting after ropes got caught in the vessel's propellers.

The boat was about a half mile off Belderrig on the Erris coastline.

The Ballyglass lifeboat was launched after the Rachael D's captain issued a mayday call, and the vessel was towed to Ballyglass pier.

The rescue took about three hours. No one was injured.
