New Haven - After early-morning stops in the crucial states of Pennsylvania and Florida, Senator Joe Lieberman headed home to Connecticut yesterday to vote for himself twice: once for vice-president and once for the US Senate.
"This is the very last rally for me," Mr Lieberman told a cheering crowd at the Warner Theatre movie palace in Erie in north-western Pennsylvania just after midnight on election day. Mr Lieberman had moved on to Tampa, Florida, yesterday morning, for a sunrise pep talk with Mr Gore to campaign workers. The two candidates also stopped at a bakery to pick up Cuban pastries for the campaign staff and at a cafe for some last-minute politicking.
